Dermal Fillers
Newcastle
As we age our bodies are under constant attack from the weather, the sun, pollution, fatigue, hormone changes and the natural aging process. As a result of aging the skin’s natural moisture retaining hyaluronic acid also declines. This inevitable moisture loss causes the lines, folds and creases around the mouth, nose, jaw, cheeks, and lips, giving us an older and more tired image.
Dermal Filler treatments offer patients a wide range of benefits, including a more youthful appearance. This treatment can be used to improve the appearance of moderate lines and wrinkles and is especially effective around the nose, mouth, and cheeks. The treatment has the added benefit of stimulating your own collagen production.
Dermal fillers (hyaluronic acid) add volume lost from the skin and smooth out and lines and wrinkles. By replacing the volume in these areas, skin will appear smoother and feel softer, giving an overall more youthful appearance.
Juvéderm® ULTRA is our filler of choice due to the additional benefits of local anaesthesia. If you would prefer an alternative brand, we are more than happy to accommodate this.
Specialist Dermal Filler Treatments Newcastle
Fillers are made up of a specially formulated type of hyaluronic acid that sits naturally in your skin. It is a biodegradable, natural gel that is easily injected into your skin. Once injected it instantly fills out volume loss or troublesome lines, leaving a smooth and natural look to the face. The results are instant, so you will notice the results straight away.
Depending on the product chosen and area treated, the product can last between three to eighteen months.
There are several different brands of filler. Each different brand of dermal filler will typically offer different variants of their product to suit different treatments. For example, the product for lip enhancement would be different to that used for cheek enhancement.
Our highly trained aesthetic practitioners will advise which product would be best suited for your needs.
We always strive to ensure our treatments are as pain free as possible, so we only use products that contain Lidocaine which is a local anaesthetic. We also provide a topical numbing cream prior to treatment.
Treatment Areas
Cheek Filler
Cheek enhancement treatment using derma filler is a safe none surgical way to restore and improve the height and fullness of your cheeks. As we age, we tend to lose the fullness in our cheeks, these changes can be very ageing. Cheek enhancement will replace the lost collagen, adding volume, restoring the skin tissue, reducing sagging. Filler also stimulates your own collagen production.
Cheek enhancement restores fullness over the buccal fat pad giving you the cheek bones a fuller more youthful appearance. The lifting effect of the cheeks can also subtly reduce the appearance of jowls along the jaw line. Overall, the slight changes can have a dramatic anti-ageing affect.
One of the great things about a cheek enhancement is that the results are instant. You’ll probably have some slight redness on the day, which will go away in a day or two.
Depending on your metabolism, age and lifestyle cheek enhancement will last 6 – 9 months or longer. The filler is gradually broken down over time and safely eliminated through the body’s natural metabolic processes. If you’re unhappy with the shape, symmetry or contour of your cheeks, then our Cheek enhancement treatment could be your answer.

Chin Filler
Cleft chin happens because the muscle that appears around the jawbone fails to close at the chin, hence leaving a gap and is technically regarded as a flaw.
Unlike cheek dimples, which represents youthfulness and innocence, a chin dimple is regarded by most women as unattractive as they think having such is more masculine than feminine.
There are a number of ways to enhance the appearance of the deep cleft chin. One of the most popular and most straightforward ways is to use dermal fillers to fill in the chin dimple.
Dermal fillers can be used to fill the gap creating a more feminine appearance.
The mental crease is a horizontal crease that rests between the lower lip and your chin. Often, the mental crease is one deep groove, but it can be composed of a combination of several lines or creases. To reduce the appearance of mental crease, dermal filler injected here can instantly achieving a softer, more youthful appearance.

Marrionette Filler
Marionette Lines are the lines that run from the corners of the mouth vertically downwards towards the chin. They are caused by repeated movement of the mouth, coupled by the loss of fat and skin elasticity. The lost skin volume causes lines to turn into deeper creases. These lines tend to give the mouth a down-turned look. Many people feel these lines make them look sad, tired, or older than they really are. These lines can be treated with derma filler, replacing volume, improving sagging and reducing the formation of jowls. Correcting the down turned corners of the mouth and softening the lines makes you appear happier, younger and rejuvenated.

Vertical Lip Line Filler
These are the lines found on the top and sometimes the bottom lip. They are often referred to as smoker’s lines, however these lines are not a definite indication that someone is a smoker. The lines are exaggerated by the actions of smoking, pouting or drinking through a straw. These expressions done long term regularly can increase the chance of these lines appearing. When lipstick is applied it can bleed into the lines and actually highlight their appearance. Treating this area with filler can achieve a smoother, younger looking appearance.

Hyalase
Hyalase (technical name Hyaluronidase) is an enzyme that dissolves dermal fillers of all types. It can be used to correct poor aesthetic outcomes, lumpiness and is also the first line treatment in a vascular complication due to filler emergency.
Nb. Before Hyalase can be prescribed/used, all patients will require a skin patch test to reduce risk of allergic reactions to the drug and anaphylaxis. The skin patch test is carried out by injecting Hyalase into the subcutaneous tissue of the forearm and observed for signs of reaction (i.e. hives or wheals). Dermal Fillers FAQ
Dermal fillers are made up of a specially formulated type of hyaluronic acid that sits naturally under your skin. It is a biodegradable gel that is easily injected into troublesome areas. This provides hydration, structure and volume, smoothing out the lines and wrinkles resulting in a younger, fresher, rejuvenated appearance.
Dermal fillers are used to plump up the skin by adding volume. They may be used to fill in wrinkles caused by sagging skin, to restore volume lost to the ageing process, or to enhance areas of the face such as the lips.
Muscle relaxants such as Botox are used to treat wrinkles and lines caused by repeated muscle movement, such as crow’s feet and forehead creases. They work by temporarily weakening the underlying muscles.
If you are new to aesthetics it can be a little confusing you may not be sure if you need dermal filler or anti-wrinkle injections. This is why we offer a free no obligation consultation.
Your practitioner can discuss product options with you at your first consultation visit with us.
Dermal fillers have been used successfully to treat most areas of the face. These treatments are appropriate for facial enhancement, filling in lines, wrinkles, and depressions. Common treatment areas include marionette lines, nasolabial folds, cheeks, lips, and smile lines.
Many patients begin receiving injections of dermal fillers as soon as they start seeing signs of wrinkles. Others wait until their wrinkles are more substantial before seeking treatment. Many patients undergo decades of repeated treatments with no ill effects. While most patients begin seeking treatment in their early 30s or 40s, it can be performed safely on clients who are both younger and older. Some patients in their 20’s have dermal fillers. City Aesthetics Clinic does not treat anyone under the age of 18years.
We do not treat anyone under the age of 18 years.
No, for safety reasons you cannot have dermal fillers injected if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Yes, dermal filler injections works well on both men and women.
The products we use have a local anaesthetic blended into the injected material itself. Also a topical anaesthetic is used to numb the skin prior to the injection process, significantly reducing the amount of discomfort experienced during the injection process. The injection process only takes a matter of minutes, and uses a very thin needle. Even sensitive areas such as the lips can be treated with minimal to no discomfort.
Depending on the area to be treated, the injection process itself takes between 10 -20 minutes .You can expect to spend half an hour or less in the clinic.
You will see results immediately and will continue to improve over the following weeks.
City Aesthetics Clinic use practitioners highly skilled at using the right amount of product. You will not look as though you’ve had “work done” and will still be able to move your facial muscles.
Our aim is to create a natural-looking enhancement to your appearance. Often, people who know you well will remark that you look well rested, or refreshed. Our experienced practitioners are able to avoid the “overdone”, or unnatural look that can occur when too much product is injected. Instead, our clients find that the treatment leaves them looking subtly rejuvenated.
Yes, individual results can vary. Choosing a clinic that uses experienced practitioners is very important. We gain optimum results for each patient through careful evaluation, correct product choice, and discussing realistic goals.
Choosing an established clinic with highly qualified experienced practitioners is key to achieving the best results possible.
No, the result is temporary, and can last between 3 months and a year, depending on the product used, the facial area treated, and your body’s ability to absorb the injected material. Many patients undergo regular touch-up injections in order to maintain their rejuvenated appearance.
It would be unlikely as we only inject small amounts of product in at a time and let you keep having a look. You are involved in the process throughout and your input is very important. Remember the dermal filler is not permanent and will gradually dissolve. However, if you really didn’t like it we can dissolve the product for you.
This depends both on the type of dermal filler used, the area treated and the individual patient. Dermal fillers can last from 3 months to a year before the body has absorbed the injected material. Over time, you will notice the results of the treatment begin to fade, gradually returning your appearance to its pre-treatment state.
Over use of dermal filler can increase side effects and lead to an unnatural looking appearance. Because most patients are unaware of how much product should be used to achieve their desired aesthetic result, it is the practitioner’s responsibility to recommend an amount of product that will create subtle yet noticeable results. Our aesthetic practitioners at the Body Detox Clinic are highly trained and experienced. You can trust them to achieve optimal results by using the right amount of product to achieve your desired look.
The results of dermal filler injections generally last 3-12 months, depending on the product used and the area treated. As its effects wear off, the skin will return to its natural, pre-treatment state. If you decide against further injections, your skin will be left in the same condition it was before treatment; it will not be any more wrinkled than it was before treatment. Some products stimulate new collagen growth, which may lead to long-lasting improvements in skin volume, even after the injected dermal filler has been absorbed by the body.
Many patients return for further treatment when they see the results of the initial treatment wearing off. This can be anywhere from 3 to 12 months, depending on the area treated, dermal filler used and other factors. If you wish to further enhance your appearance, you may wish to undergo additional treatment sooner. Your practitioner can help you decide whether you might benefit from additional injections.
All of the dermal fillers used at the Body Detox Clinic are non-permanent, this is important, because even when you love the results, your face will change as you age, requiring a different treatment strategy. The body will absorb the fillers over time, although fillers used at the clinic can be reversed very quickly with the injection of an “antidote” like product.
In addition to smoothing existing wrinkles dermal filler injections have some ability to prevent new wrinkles from forming. Many dermal filler products prompt the body to produce new collagen, which remains in the skin after the dermal filler itself is absorbed, by the body, leading to long-term wrinkle reduction.
Immediately following treatment, you may experience minor redness, swelling, and bruising. The treated area may also feel tender. These effects usually last 2-3 days and do not prevent patients from returning to work and other normal activities immediately after leaving the clinic.
For a safe treatment and optimum results, only a Nurse, Doctor or Dentist who have been fully trained in aesthetic treatments should administer cosmetic injections. At the body detox our Nurses are highly trained, experienced advanced aesthetic practitioners.
Dermal fillers may be right for you if you are looking to fill in wrinkles caused by loss of facial volume and elasticity. Dermal fillers can restore this lost volume, resulting in smoother, younger-looking skin. These injections can also be used to plump up facial areas such as the lips, enhancing their appearance. This treatment is not effective on wrinkles caused by muscle movement. Muscle relaxant injections are a more appropriate choice for treating such lines. Dermal filler injections are appropriate for most adults who are in good general health. If you are looking for a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that will smooth out wrinkles and achieve younger looking skin, Anti-wrinkle injections could be for you.
