How does it work
Mounjaro and Wegovy work by acting on hormones involved in appetite regulation and food intake.
They help you feel fuller for longer and reduce appetite, supporting gradual and sustainable weight loss when combined with healthy lifestyle changes.
How do I take it
Mounjaro and Wegovy are taken as once-weekly injections, which patients are taught to self-administer safely at home.
They can be taken at any time of day, with or without food. Full guidance is provided during your consultation.
Is it Safe
Mounjaro and Wegovy are prescription-only medications that have been clinically tested and approved for weight management.
They are only prescribed following a medical assessment to ensure they are safe and appropriate for you.
Like all prescription treatments, potential risks and side effects will be discussed fully during your consultation.
Who can have this treatment
Adults between the ages of 18-75.
People with a BMI (body mass index) over 27 who have other weight related health problems such as:
- High blood pressure
- High levels of fat in the blood (LIPIDS)
- Breathing problems, sleep apnoea
- People with a BMI above 30 with none of the above
- Suitability is always confirmed during your medical consultation.
The treatment is not suitable for any individual with a history of thyroid cancer or pancreatitis any patients with diabetes, pregnant or breast-feeding women, or anybody under the age of 18. We are unable to treat any patients with a BMI less than 27
