‘Game-changing’ weight loss injection – Ozempic, now available at City Aesthetics Clinic.

The prescription weight loss service involves a revolutionary new drug called Ozempic (semaglutide). Findings from an extensive international trial, published in the New England Journal for Medicine, have been hailed as a “game changer” for improving the health of people with obesity.
Professor Batterham, of University College London (UCL) was one of the principal authors of the research paper which involved around 2,000 participants from 16 countries. Professor Batterham has said:
“The findings of this study represent a major breakthrough for improving the health of people with obesity. Three quarters (75%) of people who received semaglutide 2.4mg lost more than 10% of their body weight and more than one-third lost more than 20%. No other drug has come close to producing this level of weight loss – this really is a game changer. For the first time, people can achieve through drugs what was only possible through weight-loss surgery.”

The results of a large, well regarded international study into the drug, published in the NEJM in March, confirmed that the majority of people receiving Ozempic lost more than 10% of their body weight. Although Ozempic is available on the NHS, it is only for those with type 2 diabetes.
